Thank you to the many hundreds of people that turned out for the first Trans Pride Exeter today, despite the forecast of rain and gales! It was amazing having you all - trans, non-binary, intersex and cis people - marching with one voice. Thank you also to our wonderful speakers and performers and workshop leaders. Warm up after the march with a cup of coffee and cake in the cafe (all proceeds going to Trans Pride Exeter!) whilst listening to live music.

Learn a new skill or polish up a current interest by attending one of our workshops! Try your hand at writing flash fiction with Viktor Ethelstan. Sun print in LGBTQ+ flag colours through Queerotyping with Dimitrios Theodorakis .Explore poems from non-binary and trans poets and use them as inspiration for your own writing with Casey Garfield. Learn how to write effective letters for queer activism with Algenon Rees. Workshop places are limited so we strongly advice booking beforehand. Join us for the screening of “Dear Wes...,” a poignant two-part short film by TransMatters that delves into the personal impacts of being transgender in the UK. We will also debut a new short film from Exeter Pride, which showcases the experiences of trans and non-binary individuals involved in the 15 Years of Exeter Pride heritage project. Take a stroll through our art market, featuring the incredible work of talented trans, non-binary, and intersex artists and makers (including our amazing Trans Pride Exeter merch!). If you’re looking for a moment of tranquility, feel free to unwind in our chill-out space.

Accessibility

We prioritise making Trans Pride Exeter as accessible and inclusive event as possible. Here are some key details:

  • The march from The Laurels to St. Sidwell's spans approximately 0.6 miles of flat paths and roads, while it is just 0.4 miles from Bedford Square.

  • Both Exeter St. Davids and Exeter Central Station are wheelchair accessible.

  • Accessible bus routes are available, with stops on the High Street and Sidwell Street.

  • The St. Sidwell Centre provides wheelchair access along with a disabled toilet.

  • A Changing Places toilet is located in the Princesshay Shopping Centre.

  • A quiet chill-out room will be available at St. Sidwell's.
