Trans Pride Exeter 2025

Our first Trans Pride Exeter kicked off on October 4th 2025. Thank you to all of you volunteered, funded us or attended; you all made the day the success it was!

First we met in Dix's field, outside The Laurels, for milling and merrymaking, before forming up and marching to Bedford square for speeches, singing and chanting. We were lucky with the weather, just missing a hailstorm a few minutes beforehand.

The turnout was fantastic for a first event; while we have no exact numbers we had at least 300, and perhaps as many as 500 people marching! In Bedford/Princessay Square we stopped for speeches, and alternated with performances; poetry and music. We’re very grateful to the BSL interpreters who supported us too, and helped us keep to our ethos of an inclusive and accessible Pride.

And to anyone who couldn't be there in person, we have pictures:

Supreme court ruling protest - May 2025

This was our first event, put together at short notice after the April 2025 Supreme Court ruling; which ruled that sex in the equality act means a person’s assumed reproductive sex at birth. This ignores the biological reality of transition and trans and non-binary people’s existence.
