Stand With Us

4th October

Who Are We?

We are a dedicated group of trans and non-binary individuals and their allies, passionate about advocating for the rights of Trans and Non-Binary people. Our mission is to combat discrimination at a local level across Exeter and the South West, as well as on a national scale.

Why We Need Trans Pride Exeter!

We are living through a moral panic where trans people are constantly raised as an ‘issue’ or ‘debate’ rather than as people by a hostile media and mainstream politics that craves outrage and a distraction from economic problems we all face.

Our healthcare is lifesaving, but now comes with waiting lists close to a decade and for trans youth the care they get at the end of their wait is now an international outlier where actual care seems to be avoided at all costs.

Our legal rights are under attack, with discrimination and hate crimes becoming more common and the Supreme Court ruling in April ignores the biological reality of our transitions and the changes in our needs that come with our changing bodies. As a result we face the possibility of being segregated out of the single sex spaces we all need to live our day to day lives. It is more crucial than ever that we rally together to support our Trans, Non-Binary, Intersex, and all gender non-conforming friends, loved ones, and siblings.

What Are We Doing?

We are protesting! We organise protests and politically campaign for real equality for trans and non-binary people. Our first protest was in May 2025 when 100s of people joined us to protest the Supreme Court Ruling that redefined sex in a way which ignores trans people’s real lives and bodies and looks likely to allow our segregation in many of the services and facilities we all use in daily life.

On October 4th we will be celebrating our first Trans Pride Exeter, with a protest march through the town centre to St Sidwells Community Centre, where we will be hosting talks and discussions about trans issues, a marketplace for trans artists and creators, and some fab music and spoken word!
