Who Are We?
We are a dedicated group of trans and non-binary individuals and their allies, passionate about advocating for the rights of Trans, Intersex and Non-Binary people. Our mission is to combat discrimination at a local level across Exeter and the South West, as well as on a national scale.
Why we need trans pride exeter
The rights of trans and non-binary individuals are under siege across the UK. A hostile media landscape and government policies have left many trans people feeling unwelcome, unsafe, and vulnerable. The recent Supreme Court Ruling limiting trans people’s access to single sex spaces, waiting lists for trans related health that are up to a decade long, and the restriction of trans healthcare for under 18s, all highlight the ongoing erosion of trans rights. It is more crucial than ever that we rally together to support our Trans, Non-Binary, Intersex, and all gender non-conforming friends, loved ones, and siblings.
What are we doing?
We are protesting! We organise protests and politically campaign for trans rights. After the success of our first Trans Pride in 2025, we will be holding them annually, with Trans Pride Exeter 2026 coming up on the 3rd of October.
We also run ad-hoc protests, in May 2025 and May 2026, 100s of people joined us to protest the Supreme Court Ruling and the subsequent EHRC guidance that means transgender individuals can be treated by their birth sex in certain contexts, excluding them from many single-sex spaces.
